Carmel Apple Cupcake

Happy Friday everyone!! I got a treat for you all. Back in the summer I made a cupcakes for my dad. He is a big sucker for apples. Apple pie is his favorite so I thought I would put it in a cupcake form with a twist. Carmel Apple cupcakes with a little Carmel surprise in the middle. Topped off with Vanilla Cream Cheese frosting with Carmel drizzled on top.  I made the apple cupcakes with the perfect combination of sweet and tart apples with a dash of cinnamon. For the surprise in the middle, I made my first homemade Carmel sauce and it came out delicious. It went along perfectly with a bite of cinnamion apple. Anyone want to try this delicious combination of carmel, cinnamon and apple? Contact Laur Laur's Sweet Treats at laurlaurssweettreats@gmail.com or call 740-258-9890 . We look forward to doing business. I hope you all have a good weekend!

Easter Cupcakes

First off, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. I sure did. I spent my Easter with the people that matter the most. You are never too old for an Easter Basket, even at 20 right? My parents didn't think so because I'm the youngest of 4 daughters and my parents hid all of our baskets. Trying to find my basket brought back so many good memories. This year my basket wasn't filled with chocolate and candy. It was so much better! This year my basket was a colorful bag with a cupcake puzzle, a perfect cupcake braclet and some other tools for decorating. It was my own basket of "dreams".   " When stressed and in doubt cupcake it out"  Speaking of cupcakes I made the perfect cupcakes to go along with our family Easter. Carrot cake is an obvious pick for Easter cupcakes. But i found a recipe to add a twist to the typical carrot cake. I got so excited to try it out when I found it. I made Banana Carrot cupcakes topped off with Coco...

My First Benefit

The business department put on a benefit a couple Fridays ago. This benefit was for one of our business professors. It was in celebration of the twins him and his wife lost a year ago. This benefit included selling of baked goods and milkshakes. Along with minute to win it games and a memorial service was put on. All the money that was brought in that day was donated to the Morgantown Hospital. It was a great cause and a good time. I offered to make cupcakes for the benefit.  When deciding what kind of cupcakes to make I thought to myself who doesn't like peanut butter and chocolate?! So I went with a Reese Cupcake. I hate hate hate making things out of boxes. I make all of my cupcakes from scratch. For these Reese Cupcakes I made a chocolate base with a fudge filling surprise for the cupcakes. Then I topped it off with peanut butter frosting made with the rich Reese peanut butter. For a little decoration I put crumbles of Reese's on top.        ...

A Little About Me

So to start off let me tell you a little about myself. I'm currently a Sophomore at a small college in Waynesburg, PA (Waynesburg University). I am pursuing a degree in Business Management with a Marketing minor. When deciding what I should do after high school I knew it HAD to be something with baking. I grew up around cooking in the kitchen with my mom and my 3 sisters. I gained a strong passion for baking. One day my hopes are to open my own bakery. So I thought I'd start with gaining knowledge about business management and that's how I needed up at Waynesburg University. Why Waynesburg? Well basketball is my other passion in life. I can't remember a day basketball wasn't in my life. I was recruited my Coach Jones, the head coach for the women's basketball team at Waynesburg. Now I have a the amazing opportunity to play the game I love at the collegiate level. I'm sure you'll get to know me more through my upcoming blogs!                ...
