Smash Cake!!!! Have you all been to a little kids first birthday?? My first one was one of my best friend's little girls birthday party. It was so much fun to watch Baby Sky with her cake. At first she was caution. She was giving her mom a look like mommy what is this?? Then she tried a little piece of the cake and her face lite up. In her tiny human brain she looked like she was screaming CAKE!!!!! It was so adorable to witness such a thing. I had the honor of making a sweet girls first birthday cake and I have a feeling her experience went the same as well. Her dad requested a smash cake and said anything with pink. Burr it sure is cold here in Ohio.  Just when you thought it would warm up……. You wake up to everything covered in white fluffy snow. The forecast is looking like it will be warming up soon... which means all of the pretty white snow will be melting which means a muddy mess. Yup that sounds like a winter in Ohio. Throughout the winter months what is better than staying warm in the kitchen baking up a storm? My sister, Heather, got engaged and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her and her finance. I am the youngest of 4 and Heather was the first one to get engaged. With that being said my parents are beyond excited.  Anytime there is an excuse to have a party my family goes all out. Happy Saturday!  Brown Bear Pottery is a local business out of Newbury, OH. All of their pieces are beautiful. Each year they are coming up with new pieces that are even more impressive than the last. Every year they hold an Open House for their customers. The past two years we have been honored to be apart of it.   This is the second year they requested cupcakes. The event is close to Christmas and not far from Thanksgiving. They wanted those two holidays to be represented in the flavors. We went with  Pumpkin Spice Minis and Peppermint Hot Chocolate Minis.  They ordered our mini cupcakes because they are perfect for their customers to grab and go. The mini cupcakes fit perfectly on the platters they were selling. As their customers came in to pick up their orders or browse, the minis were perfect for them to grab and keep moving. Good Evening and Happy Wednesday!! I had a high school friend approach me a little while back to make her sister's bridal shower cupcakes. Her sister attended Kentucky University, where she met her   Fiancé .  After they get married they will be moving back to Kentucky. As you probably collected Kentucky has a BIG part of their relationship.  The bride’s sister wanted to somehow incorporate Kentucky into the cupcakes for the bridal shower.  We made Run for the Roses mini cupcakes to add a creative twist to the bridal shower. She requested mini cupcakes so they are easy to grab and go. The other thought was it wouldn’t be too messy for the women who 'dressed up for the derby". We loved this idea! The flavors that she requested were Mocha Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting and Strawberry Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting . With the frosting piped and colored to look like roses. These cupcakes turned out simple and classy....

Good afternoon everybody. I wanted to share with you a wedding we did over the weekend. We are always so happy to be a part of someone’s big day. The bride and groom requested a vanilla on vanilla cake just for them. Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting.   Here is the cake without the fancy decorations. I loved how simple and classy this cake turned out. The wedding was in a cute little barn. Their colors were light blue, dark blue, light pink and burlap. We wanted to make the cake pop and go along with the theme of the venue. We added some burlap and they picked out an adorable cute topper that said I love you more. The burlap and the cake topper took this cake to a new level. We loved it and so did our customers.  In addition to the cake they requested cupcakes for their guests. I love this idea. Hello everyone!! Happy HUMP day :) I wanted to give you all an update. We have been busy this summer with Graduation parties. One of our favorite things to do is be a part of our customer's milestones. Graduation season is an exciting time and we were honored to be a part of the many graduate's special day by adding something sweet to the occasion. Here is a few cupcakes we have done this summer, enjoy :) Lemon Cupcakes with Raspberry Filling topped off with Lemon Zest Buttercream Frosting.   These cupcakes were a HUGE hit. The lemon flavored cupcakes with the a raspberry flavoring is a perfect match. We got great reviews from each of our customers this summer.
